Blogg Twenty Five
23rd August
So today was probably the happiest times I have had since lockdown began.
Following the last weeks somewhat devastating news that there is a scar of some sort on my brain which is causing some issues and is something that I will now have to live with rather than temporary which was the hope. Definitely brings the cause I am running for, epilepsy research and the App for people to risk assess activities, even closer to me.
I ran my first ever running race, my first ever 10k, and the first time I have run with FORDY RUNS Running Club.
I was literally terrified, partly because of the not knowing how a race runs, and also because of my ability to fall flat on my face.
I met the most lovely people, who encouraged me all the way round, kept an eye on me and picked me up at the end when it all went black for the last 100m and I then fell over (I am so sorry about that!) but just had the most fun time ever. I can’t wait until the next race. But I finished and my PB is 1.06.58.
And then went for food with Jenny - it’s been way too long. I have missed her so much and it was fantastic to catch up. Can’t wait till next time.
So all in all just the best day for months. Just thank you to everyone who was there or supported me by messages and texts.
Anyway some random photos about to come. And now I start moving up the training ready for the virtual marathon on 4th October.
If anyone wants to join me for a mile or more that day I will be running round the Royal Free Sites starting in Barnet, then Enfield then to Hampstead. Or just come and entice me with alcohol to keep going!! I would so love the company and encouragemen
