So it turned out that my rolled ankle was slightly worse than that. I had managed to stess and open an old break and break the navicular bone in my foot, helped on by falling down the stairs later in the week. So 4 weeks in a cast as the xrays showed a “suspicious lesion”. Seems to mean that the old break has moved.
Apart from that it was a manic week in work and next week looks no different. I’m missing running so much though, more so as it looks like we are heading to another lockdown. Not so bad when its raining and windy but on the sunny calm days I miss the way running allows me to not think about anything, just listen to the music and concentrate on the road in front of me, but I have managed to walk/stomp as much as I have been able to. My medal for the Queen of the Suburbs and Ealing Half Marathon arrived which was amazing.
We have had such beatiful weather, the sunsets are amazing both on the two occasions I have been home (work has meant I need to stay in London). I hate to admit it as I can usually find the positive in any situation, but I have struggled to find much happiness in them. Since the marathon I have found things a little tough, usual after a competition where the build up and event itself leaves a void afterward. I have used my time to concentrate on my MSc and work and to plan races and training plans moving forward. Brighton Marathon has been delayed but I have found another at Dorney Lake which will give me the motivation to start training again, always hard after a break and more so in winter.
